On May 1 1863 the Chancellor House had been invaded by Union troops. That night Confederate Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson met to plan an attack on the union troop although they were outnumbered 2 to 1.. They decided to take half of their troops on a daring 12 mile march to attack the right flank of the Union line. The plan worked and the Confederates retook Chancellorsville two days later. The meeting that night turned out to be the last meeting between the two generals. The attached photos were taken at the location where the generals met and of cannons used at Hazel Grove and Fairview during the two day battle.
